Sleepy Hollow Street Beach

Directions |

From
Broadway turn left heading east on PCH. Sleepy Hollow street is about a
quarter of a mile down PCH. Sleepy Hollow street can be very difficult to
find because it is a very small street with no traffic lights or stop signs.
Keep your eyes open for the sign shown in the picture here. Don't bother
turning onto Sleepy Hollow (unless you just want to drop off passengers).
There is no parking down this street, all public parking is on Pacific Coast
Highway (PCH). |
Parking |
|
 |
Parking
at Sleepy Hollow Street Beach is extremely limited. Parking is only available
along Pacific Coast Highway (PCH), as is seen in the picture parking can
be found. I believe the space pictured here was open for over 45 seconds,
this should be plenty of time for a resourseful scuba diver! There are parking
meters to pay, you feed them 1 quarter for each 15 minutes and there is
a two hour limit before you are supposed to move your car. Please don't
park in the hotel's alley or someone's driveway though, there are attendants
monitoring the parking and they will inform the Laguna Beach parking enforcement.
If this happens you will get a ticket or worse your car towed! |

Access |

 |
Beach
Access at Sleepy Hollow Street Beach is via a long gently sloping pathway
that leads to the pictured staircase. This access area is on your right
hand side as you look down Sleepy Hollow Street towards the Hotel. The pathway
is shady and cool until you get to the staircase. Use extreme caution when
navigating the stairs with scuba gear on. |
Facilities |
|
| Facilities
at Sleepy Hollow Street Beach do not exist! In fact I couldn't find a single
thing to mention, no trash can, phone, park, or anything! Since there was
nothing to show I thought I would include a picture of the path that leads
to the staircase. |
Diving |
|
 |
There
is an exposed reef for diving at Sleepy Hollow Street Beach. The reef is
on your left hand side when you get to the bottom of the stairs. There are
several reefs running parallel to the beach along this area. The day that
these pictures were taken there was a 24 inch baracuda at the bottom of
the stairs! There are obviouly fish to be seen in this area! |
